Cross-Country Skiing
Events: Much like the biathlon event the cross-country event, the men’s 15km classic at 5 AM, will feature a start staggered by 30-seconds per skiier. This race is done using the classic technique (hence the name). There are 92 women in the field, four who are Americans. Erik Bjornsen starts 12th at 5:06, Brian Gregg starts 18th at 5:09, Kris Freeman starts 23rd at 5:11:30, and Noah Hoffman starts 32nd at 5:16.

Curling
Events: The US men enter what could be a make or break day in curling sitting in 7th at 1-3. 4th place is currently at 3-1 so the US needs to try to keep pace. The first opponent on Friday at 12 AM is 10th place Germany (0-4). It’s a good opponent for a must-win game to get things back on track. Then the US will take on Russia at 10 AM. Russia is currently in 8th (1-4) so that is another good opportunity for the US. 2-0 is quite doable and getting to 3-3 with three matches left would keep them in the hunt.
The women are sitting at 1-4 but with a four-way tie for fourth at 2-2 they are not finished yet. They probably need to win out to get to 5-4 and hope that the fourth place race stays tight. They’ll take on 10th place Denmark (0-5) on Friday at 5 AM and hopefully get one step closer.
When:
- Men’s Round Robin – USA vs. Germany – 12 AM
- Women’s Round Robin – USA vs. Denmark – 5 AM
- Men’s Round Robin – USA vs. Russia – 10 AM
Live Streaming: A live stream will be available on the NBC Olympics website and on the NBC Sports Live Extra app. You will probably have to authenticate a cable subscription to watch the live streams of the Olympics.

Figure Skating
Events: 24 men will be part of the men’s free program on Friday at 10 AM. The race for bronze is very tight with Jason Brown sitting in 6th and in contention. Jeremy Abbott’s fall in the short program has him out of contention. Abbott will skate third in the second group, ninth overall, while Brown skates last in the final group. He’ll know exactly what he needs to do to win a medal.
