Things went really well for the US team of Charles Cole, Matthew Miller, Henrik Rummel, and Seth Weil in the men’s four competition on Friday. The US posted the top time of 5:52.07 in the heats to advance directly to the final. The lightweight men’s four team of Robin Prendes, Anthony Fahden, Edward King, and Tyler Nase didn’t have the opportunity to reach the final directly but posted the second fast time (6:00.95) to advance to the semifinals on Saturday. Finally Thomas Graves in the men’s single sculls was third in his heat and was forced into the repechage later in the day. Graves was the eighth fastest in the heats. He wasn’t able to recreate the magic in the repechage. His timer earlier in the day still wouldn’t have been enough but he was fourth in his repechage and will now compete in the D Final on Saturday.
The men’s four will be off until Sunday’s final while the lightweight men’s four team will compete in the semifinals on Saturday.
